Walking home from the shops recently, I noticed that the pie factory was a lot more visible then usual. It took me a moment to realise that the row of trees that usually flanked the perimeter was gone.
With Tara's Gallery prompt this week being trees, I thought I would go back and take a look. So armed with camera and feeling somewhat like an undercover investigative journalist, I did just that.
It was terribly sad to see the once tall, graceful tress reduced to piles of logs and untidy branches.
I am not good at keeping abreast of local news so I don't know if this arboreal massacre was part of an improvement and development scheme which may include a replanting program. I hope so.
All those chopped down trees that's a shame! But you have taken some lovely pics with them.
ReplyDeleteYes I think I would prefer chocolate in the air too!
Yummy chocolate smell all the time yummy.
ReplyDeleteIts such a shame they have cut down the trees however inside the trunks looks fab
Maybe the 'Northern gal' in me thinks that living near a pie factory wouldn't be such a bad thing ;)
ReplyDeleteLooking at these photos are so sad. Kind of reminds me of that episode of Friends where Phoebe wants to save all the old Christmas trees from the chipper!
They are beautiful photos though Paula.

ReplyDeleteOh, that is sad. Evil tree cutters!
ReplyDeleteIt is so sad when beautiful majestic trees are hacked down - I have always loved trees and those pics did fill me with sadness.
